14/3/11 – INTERTECH 2011 Announces Keynote Speakers
14 March 2011
INTERTECH 2011, being held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago May 2-4 is The World’s Stage for research, technology and application development of diamond, cubic boron nitride (cBN) and other materials classified as ultra-hard or superabrasives. INTERTECH 2011 will feature Keynote addresses by Walter Huehn, Executive Director Advanced Materials and Technologies Division – Element Six, Germany, Mark Schweizer, CEO & President – Diamond Innovations, USA and Mitsuhiro "Chip" Goto, Managing Director, General Manager – Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal Corporation, Japan. These distinguished business leaders will join Dr. Dean Ho an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Full Member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University, Illinois, United States, where he directs the Laboratory for Nanoscale Biotic-Abiotic Systems Engineering (N-BASE).
Dr. Ho is renowned for his work with nanodiamonds, where he developed a process for targeted delivery of drugs into cancerous tissues. In Dr. Ho’s ground-breaking work, nanodiamond is coated with the cancer killing drug and then coated with protein receptors that are injected into a cancer tumor and the protein receptors attach themselves to the tumor to release the cancer-killing drugs. Dr. Ho will elaborate on this process and additional nanodiamond technologies.
Keynote speakers will start each day and head a strong list of Technical Presentations and a special Educational Session, "Superabrasive Materials, Principles & Applications", to provide one of the best programs ever assembled for this industry says the organisers.
