It is being promoted as one of the most promising events in China’s bridge industry, Bridge Tech 2010 will meet with the world on November 29, 2010, at the Intercontinental Shanghai Pudong.
Having gained support from the Chinese government, Bridge Tech 2010 is being organized by the Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute (JTRI, together with the Key Laboratory of Large-span Bridge Health Inspection & Diagnosis Technology Ministry of Communications, PRC and Global Leaders Institute (GLI).
The International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) will also give their special support to this annual event; with NACE International and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Hong Kong (ACEHK) as this year’s endorsers.
"Bridge Tech has become one of the most exciting and significant annual events for the bridge industry. It provides great opportunity for industry leaders not only from China but also other regions in the world to update their knowledge and exchange industry information," said Yang Genlin, General Manager of Jiangsu Communication Holdings Corporation.
China’s Central Government has already invested 4 trillion RMB on infrastructure in 2009; and this year, according to the Development and Reform Commission, China prepares to undertake 245 new bridge construction projects, with a total investment of up to 150 billion RMB.
Bridge Tech 2010 will bring together over 200 industry leaders, including bridge chief designers, engineers and constructors of significant projects, government officials and investors worldwide.Attendees will share thoughts on more than 20 renowned bridge cases, hold brainstorming sessions in two conference pre-workshops, discuss key topics in four panel discussions and enjoy a one-day-tour of Shanghai Changjiang Tunnel Bridge.
Bridge Tech 2010 will focus on "Safety and Aesthetics," the status quo and development trend of the bridge industry, disclosure of current investment policy and new bridge projects in China to stressing safety concepts in consideration under technological innovation, discussing bridge life-cycles and applications and bridge maintenance to access to advanced bridge construction materials and equipments and sharing world class bridge cases.
The organizers say that in order to strengthen the influence of Chinese bridge construction business in the international arena, Bridge Tech 2010 will build up wide partnerships with media from the mainland and abroad. With the latest information and innovative ideas delivered to industry professionals worldwide, Bridge Tech 2010 will promote the development of world bridge construction, and create great added value to the whole society.
