13/7/10 – Large Diamond Discovery by Rockwell
13 July 2010
Rockwell Diamonds Inc has reported finding large stones from their mines in Holpan and Saxendrift. The two mining sites in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa are based north of Kimberley and on the Middle Orange River respectively.
Rockwell recovered the three large gemstone diamonds during April and May of this year. At the Holpan operation a 66-carat, white elongated stone with minor inclusions was recovered. At Saxendrift two stones of 124 and 145 carats were recovered. The stones have been sold into Rockwell’s joint venture with Steinmetz Diamond Group and will be manufactured and sold as polished goods.
