2/7/10 – KWH Mirka has set up India subsidiary

Finnish firm KWH Mirka Ltd, maker of abrasives used in automotive sector and for other industrial applications, fully-owned subsidiary in India. Based in New Delhi, the company says that it has already tied up with 10 distributors and appointed 100 distributors across the country. It has also obtained approval from several automotive OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mahindra & Mahindra and Swaraj Mazda.
Mirka India will offer its patented abrasive net products – Autonet, Abranet, Abralon, other conventional products, besides a range of tools and accessories. Abrasives are materials used for sanding operations in order to shape, polish or finish a product.
Mr Tom Nordstrom, Vice-President and Executive Director, KWH Mirka Ltd, said, “India is a key market for us. With its large automotive aftermarket and a growing global presence in wind energy and wood sectors, it would contribute significantly to our growth plans.” Mr Vinay Mathur, Managing Director, Mirka Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, said the company would look to double its market share within three years.
