5/6/10 – St. Gobain CEO adds Chairman role

Pierre-Andre de Chalendar, chief executive of Saint Gobain has added Chairman to his list of roles within the company. Mr Chalendar has been CEO since June 2007. Previously he has had a number of position within the company since he joined in 1989. His first role was asvice-president of corporate planning, followed by director of abrasives for Europe between 1992 and 1996, director of abrasives worldwide (1996 – 2000) and general delegate for the UK and Ireland between 2000 and 2002 before being appointed senior vice president in charge of the building distribution sector in 2003. He was elected to the Saint Gobain board in 2006 and Mr de Chalendar is also a director of Veolia Environment.
