29/3/11 – UK Event to discuss Surface Engineering – Challenges and Priorities
The challenges and priorities for UK industry in relation to surface engineering will be the topic of an event to be hled on Tuesday 12 Apr 2011 at The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Carlton House Terrace, London.
The event organisers say that as a key enabling technology, surface engineering is vital to the success of the UK engineering and manufacturing industries. Virtually every product, from aero engines to razor blades, has a treated surface in some form or other to achieve functional properties not present in the bulk material.
“Surface Engineering –Challenges and Priorities for UK Industry” will help confirm the topics and issues driving the development of effective surface engineering. A series of presentations and discussions will detail the experience and requirements for key application sectors of aerospace, power generation, healthcare, transport, the built environment and environmental sustainability and technologies such as materials and nanotechnology.
