Munksjö forms a world leading specialty paper company

Munksjö have closed the acquisition of ArjoWiggins’ decor, abrasives, thin papers and fine arts businesses including the mills in Arches, France and Dettingen, Germany, as of March 10. With this acquisition Munksjö forms a world leading specialty paper company.
Munksjö now offer its customer something as unique as a full range of decor products; print base and pre-impregnated papers, as well as LPL-, HPL-, resin saving papers and printed designs. The product offering within abrasive papers show growth potential which fits perfectly with the specialty paper strategy of Munksjö. The same applies for the production and sales of thin papers primarily for pharmaceutical leaflets and fine arts paper.

The integration work has already started and will give us a strengthened manufacturing network and with the R&D Centre in Apprieu, France, we will be in the frontline for new innovations”, says Jan Åström President and CEO Munksjö AB.
Net sales for the new company will amount to approximately 600 MEUR 2011 and the number of employees are around 1,750.Munksjö has world leading market positions in specialty paper areas such as: upgrading of laminate surfaces for flooring, furniture and interior design, electrotechnical paper for insulation in high-voltage cables and interleaving to the steel industry. Production facilities are located in France, Germany, Spain, Norway, China and Sweden.
