St.Gobain Abrasives VP moves to Valeo
At the same time as automobile systems company Valeo announces the appointment of Christophe Périllat-Piratoine as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer with effect from March 1, 2011, it notes that Marc Vrekco will take up the position of president of the comfort and driving assistance business group, Marc Vrekco iscurrently VP
of Abrasives Europe, Middle East within the Abrasives Division of the Saint-Gobain group.Marc Vrecko has accepted to bring to Valeo his excellent industrial and managerial skills, as well as his considerable knowledge of the automotive industry and developments in Asia, particularly in Japan, China, Korea and Thailand.”
Christophe Périllat-Piratoine joined Valeo in 2000 as a Division General Manager upon the acquisition of Labinal’s automotive business. He then managed, from 2002, the Switches and Detection Systems Branch and then the Interior Controls Branch. Since 2009 he has been President of the Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems Business Group. Christophe Périllat-Piratoine is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, the Ecole des Mines and the HEC business school (Executive MBA). As head of the Group’s Operations, he will have responsibility for the four Business Groups (Powertrain Systems, Thermal Systems, Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems, and Visibility Systems) as well as the Valeo Service aftermarket activity.
Marc Vrecko joined Saint-Gobain in 1990 where he has occupied several management positions. He managed in particular the flat glass business (including the associated automotive glazing activity) for Asia, with sites located in Korea, China, Japan and Thailand.
