Company Acquisition Strengthens the Carbide Blade Market
28 October 2010
J.N. Eberle & Cie. GmbH has acquired the technology and assets of the insolvent company MHPS Handschuh GmbH & Co. KG. It is expected that this move will improve Eberle’s market standing in carbide tipped band saw blades.
The insolvent company MHPS manufactured quality metal band saw blades for industrial applications.
Martin Doring, Managing Director of Eberle said, “ We know how excellent the technology and quality of MHPS is. For a long time we have been supplying them with the precision strip steel which is used as a pre-product for saw blades.”
“Moreover, we are active in the same market, and so we know how well regarded the company is among its customers worldwide. The specialized know-how in both companies in the field of high-tech saws will complement each other in an excellent way.”
Production is expected to be running at full capacity within months and the majority of Eberle’s 258 production employees will be receiving an offer of renewed employment.
Eberle generated a turnover of €20 million in the first half of 2010, an increase in 51% on the same period in 2009.
